What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy healing in which the practitioner uses light touch to channel energy, promoting stress reduction, relaxation, and healing.  All matter, including the human body, is made up of energy.  Energy flows through the body in the form of light (biophotons) between the crystalline matrix of the body, connecting all cells and their components and is responsible for their function and interactions.  Reiki can be used to manipulate the body’s energy field located around the body and assist in the healing process occurring from reduced or blocked ki, or “life force” or “energy” in the body.

Reiki can be effective in addressing:

Physiological and Mental Stress, Chronic Fatigue, Pain, Discomfort in HIV/AIDS patients, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s Disease and many other acute and chronic conditions and diseases.

By employing Reiki as a therapy the body and mind are affected at the most fundamental level.  With healing taking place at an “electronic”, or energetic, level the body’s physiological mechanisms can begin to re-balance themselves.  The body and mind are restored of the energy that they were lacking in order to try to combat illness, or an energetic imbalance or blockage, in the physical or emotional body.

In effect, Reiki increases the vitality of the individual.  Individualized and comprehensive therapy is given according to the patient’s specific concerns and goals.  With continued therapy the body and mind begin to enter a state of ease in which healing can take place.
